Qualitative Methods – Expanded

Qualitative research methods are a powerful tool to achieve a deep understanding of complex issues and enable bringing patient and participant narratives to the fore.

Common methods include in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, observation, and case studies.

The BEAD Core offers qualitative methods support throughout the research process. Specifically, we can support and offer guidance regarding:

• Study design
• Data collection tools (e.g. interview and focus group discussion guides)
• Data collection (e.g., guidance to team members conducting interviews or focus groups)
• Analysis
• Manuscript preparation.
