Kevin Psoter, PhD, MPA
Dr. Psoter is a causal epidemiologist whose research interest centers on the analysis of observational studies as though they were randomized experiments, specifically on the development of novel approaches for estimating effects of nonrandomized exposures occurring at a single point in time. He specializes in designing, implementing and analyzing large-scale studies, conducting complex statistical analyses of prospective and retrospective studies and developing statistical models to generate hypotheses. Dr. Psoter has made significant contributions to understanding how environmental factors contribute to the acquisition of respiratory infections in young children with cystic fibrosis. His research is motivated by the need for epidemiological evidence to directly inform clinical decision making, disease prevention strategies and, ultimately, to shape public health policy.
